About Us

The name and the logo of “Crossing the Bridges” says so much.  There are many obstacles we will encounter in life. God sent forth His Spirit to help us build bridges, and counsel us on how to best cross the bridges, so that we can live more peacefully with those brought into our lives. Crossing the Bridges prayer is to be a vessel for God, His hands, feet, ears, eyes, words, to help guide others through the struggles in life. As  Edward Grinnan, Editor-in-Chief of the “Guideposts” magazine explains, “It is our faith that bridges the gap between fear and action.”

Lois Pulvermacher received her Bachelor's Degree from UW – Green Bay and her Master's Degree from UW – Milwaukee.  She has a certificate in Biblical Counseling from the Biblical Counseling Institute in Fairhope, AL.  She is a LCSW and has been working as a home-based counselor since 2000.  She is a founder/facilitator for Prison Ministry (PM) Family Support Group (a support group for family members who have a loved one incarcerated, in jail, or recently released).  (See Event page for meeting times.) She has been a volunteer for PM since 1993 in the capacity of small group facilitator, Volunteer In Prison (VIP) instructor, Aftercare Mentor instructor, Angel Tree Site Coordinator, (Angel Tree is gift giving to children who has a parent whom is incarcerated), and most recently as facilitator for a Christian Mentor Support group.  Lois experienced her personal encounter with Christ in 1987 and has been growing in her walk with the Lord.  She is a member of JOSHUA, (Justice Organization Sharing Hope and United for Action) a faith based justice organization, and serves in many capacities, but one that was the most rewarding was chairing the committee that helped bring a drug treatment court to Brown County.  She is the middle child in a family of 15 children and takes her role as "peacemaker" seriously.  Lois has 38 nieces and nephews and 10 great nieces and nephews.  She shares that with you because she understands just how important, and challenging, communication is in various dimensions of family relationships.
